We have to admit that when we first heard that we would have to leave our dogs with you for 3 – 4 weeks for their initial training, Jed and I were a bit nervous. However, after meeting with you in person and realizing what an incredibly devoted and compassionate person you are regarding the dogs and seeing how wonderfully the dogs were boarded and maintained, that anxiety quickly subsided. Also, because we were expecting a baby in July 2003, we knew we needed help on training these large dogs and communicating better with them. When we left our 2 Golden Retrievers, Sid and Alex, with you, we had no idea what to expect when they returned.
The dogs that returned home with us 4 weeks later were not only more obedient, which was the primary purpose for sending them, but also they were HAPPIER DOGS! It was amazing to see them both walk with a spring in their step, while heeling, of course, that we had never seen before. Of course, after the 4 weeks they spent with you the real work of training us, the owners, had to begin. We can honestly say that it has been a pleasure working with you and having you teach us how to better communicate with our dogs
Your method of teaching and willingness to come to our house to help integrate their training has been invaluable. Your training is more than just heel, sit & stay. It has given us a way to communicate and be with our dogs that is functional in our every day lives. We now no longer have an issue with our dogs barking and disturbing the neighbors. To be able to walk a 75 lb. dog and a 90 lb. dog together through the neighborhood without fear of being dragged is something we never thought we would experience. Now we can actually walk them with our baby! Even bringing the baby home and introducing him to the dogs was a smooth and almost effortless experience.
The biggest testament to the body language, commands and means of discipline that you have taught us is the response that our 2 Pugs, who did not go through your official training course, have had. From simply watching the way we worked with our Golden Retrievers, the Pugs began to respond. As you know, it was only a matter of weeks before we needed training collars for our Pugs, because they saw it as a treat when we would work with them on the same training techniques as we worked with the Goldens. Needless to say, the Pugs have picked up on the commands at lightning speed.
We have been absolutely thrilled about working with you, and would recommend you to anyone who has a dog. You truly have a gift for communicating with dogs and sharing your knowledge with their owners. We hope we can continue our relationship with you for a long time to come.
